Results

Priority matrix

  • Training need
  • Fix first (non-training cause)
  • No gap
  • Priority zone: gap of 2 or more on a skill rated 4 or 5 for importance

Ranked skills

  • Filled squares show the current level. Dashed squares show the gap to the required level.
    How the scoring works
    • Gap is the required level minus the current level. It is never below zero.
    • Priority score is gap multiplied by importance, from 0 to 20. A score of 12 or more is high, 6 to 11 is medium, and 1 to 5 is low.
    • Only gaps caused by knowledge or skill are marked as training needs. Gaps caused by motivation, process, tools, time, or authority are marked fix first, because training alone will not close them.
    • Ratings are only as good as the evidence behind them. Combine performance data, observation, assessments, and manager input where you can.
